Ayotte Drums strive to manufacture the finest hand made drums in the world. Their commitment is to continually improve the sound and appearance of their instruments supported by their 25 year warranty.

These standards are maintained by restricting manufacturing volumes allowing for individual crafting of each instrument.

Custom Shells

Ayotte Custom Shells feature 5ply North American Sugar Maple shells for 6" - 10" toms and 6ply shells for 12" to 20" toms and bass drums.

All shells are fitted with Sound Rings, which are individually hand cut, sized, and fastened to the top and bottom of every drum. The rings not only amplify the structural integrity of the shell, but they also enhance the resonance quality of the instrument. Increased thickness at the top and bottom promotes high-end tonalities while the thinness of the shell reverberates low-end timbre. This construction protocol results in a drum capable of a broad range of tonalities and sonic dynamics

Custom Snare Drums

Search no further, the recipe for that distinct snare drum sound you've been dreaming of is etched within one of Ayotte's 300 plus custom snare drum configurations. Crowned the "Jewel of the Drum Kit", the Ayotte Custom snare drum is much more than the sum of it's parts; it represents the new bench mark for premier snare drum acoustics and aesthetics.

Custom Shop Snare drums are available in 5 different diameters from 10" to 15" and any depth you desire between 3" and 12". The standard wood plies are normally 6 or 10 but similar to the toms, up to 50 plies can be used, wood hoops used on the snare drums are 14ply maple. All Ayotte snare drums come fitted with the patented Rack & Pinion snare throw-off

All Ayotte snares are fitted with single ply USA made drumheads (Remo Ambassador or Evans G1) as standard. Coated on the batter side and a hazy snare side for the resonant head. Alternative heads can be fitted if requested.

Custom Tom Toms

Ayotte Custom Tom Toms are sweet sounding. With a virtually limitless array of configurations and sonic characteristics, it is difficult to nominate which toms to include in your "sea of toms"

There are over 300 different variations currently available in the Custom Shop range. Toms are available in sizes ranging from 6" to 20" diameter and 3" to 20" in depth. Standard Ply thickness is 5ply for 6" to 10" toms and 6ply for 12" up wards. Additional plies can be added up to a ridiculously thick 50ply shell.

All Ayotte toms are fitted with single ply USA made drumheads (Remo Ambassador or Evans G1) as standard. Coated on the batter side and a clear resonant head. Alternative heads can be fitted if requested.

Custom Bass Drum

Eager to provide pule, lifeblood and rhythm to the band, the Ayotte custom bass drum awaits your command to bless the air with it's full bodied sonic reverberations. A cadre of Ayotte innovations is carefully coalesced to generate that unique Ayotte Custom bass timbre so often described as "thunderous, but sweet".

Custom Shop Bass drums are available in 8 different diameters from 14" to 28" and a range of depth from 6" to 24" giving you a huge choice of sound. All bass drums feature a 6ply 4mm shell with a 10ply hoop. The sizes 14", 16" & 18" come with the integrated Ayotte bass drum riser.

All Ayotte bass drums are fitted with USA made drumheads (Remo Powerstroke II or Evans EQ3) as standard. Clear on the batter side and a Ebony resonant head. Alternative heads can be fitted if requested.

 

Custom Colours & Original Art

Custom Drums are manufactured using custom colours (any colour can be re-produced), original art or from the extensive Ayotte colour library. Pricing for the original art and custom colour matching is available at request.

Ayotte craftsmen can produce individual art designs for customers. The result is a unique individually created instrument built with pride and knowledge that it has unique characteristics from all others.

Naturally all Ayotte drums carry individual badge and serial numbers for future colour matching.
