About QR

The QR Series is destined to redefine the entry level drum set. Thin basswood shells with eye-catching wrapped finishes, double braced hardware and Paiste 101 cymbals. With high-end features like I.T.S. mounts and matching wood bass drum hoops, the QR is a great way to get started in drumming.

The shells are made from 9-ply 7.2mm basswood and with the exception of the exterior cosmetic maple ply, this drum shell is exactly the same as the VX Shell. The basswood responds with plenty of attack and is exceptionally full-bodied. With off-the-shell I.T.S. mounts and single-point-of-contact lugs, this is an incredibly sophisticated and high performance drum set for the price.

The Mapex QR is sold with a set of 300 series hardware and a set of Paiste 101 cymbals, and Throne as well as an instructional DVD to help you with set up.
