About Premier Series Birch

Premier Series... the new standard in contemporary drum design.

Handcrafted at Premiers famous factory in England, the Premier Series is the result of over 8 decades of drum-making experience and the latest design innovations.

With unrivalled flexibility, the Premier Series offers today's ultimate custom drum kit with an almost endless selection of woods, shell types, sizes and finishes. They're all united in the Premier Series range, so you can specify each shell in your kit separately.

Our most advanced shells ever feature a slightly undersized diameter combined with unique precision cut bearing edges to generate an incredible drum sound with enhanced resonance and truer tone.

Premier Series Birch Shell

Two different shell types are offered in the Premier Series Birch range of drums.

BIRCH CLASSIC SHELLS (Un-Supported)

Genuine 6 ply Finnish Birch offers a louder, harder sound with brighter tonal characteristics.

BIRCH TRADITIONAL SHELLS (Supported)

The Birch Traditional Toms consist of a 4 ply shell with 4 ply support hoops.

Colour Options

The three different colour options below are are split between two price categories, Standard (predominantly wood grain lacquers) and Premium (sparkle and exotic wrap) finishes. The Premium options are priced slightly higher than the Standard colours.

Lacquer Finish
Nothing less than perfection is acceptable for Premiers expert team of colour technicians who take the time and the greatest care and attention when creating thier flawless, crystal clear lacquer finishes.

Wrap Finish
Looking for something different? Whether it's retro, funky or exotic, achieve the look with a wrap finish.

Sparkle Finish
The much talked about sparkle finishes are the envy of drummers around the world. Lacquer based as apposed to wrapped, the multi-glaze finishing process delivers an unmatchable bright, crisp finish.

Price and Availability

Due to the fact that each drum is made by hand in Premier's Leicester factory and with a massive choice of configurations and colour options available, most Premier Series kits take approximately 12 weeks from the date of order.

With so many different variables (shell size, wood type, shell thickness and colour choice) dictating the final cost of a Premier Series kit, a little bit more information is required in order to supply you with a price for your custom made drum kit.

If you're interested in a Premier Series drum kit then please contact us stating the sizes you require along with your preferred shell type and colour* choice.

* It isn't necessary to make a final colour choice until the point of order, however due to a difference in price between the Standard and Premium finishes, a decision between the two would be helpful.
