With the recent influx of electric guitars with built-in tuning facilities, it’s time for acoustic guitars to get the same functionality. Though clip-on tuners have served acoustic players well for many years, some feel they are too far from the eye or find it annoying to have one attached to the headstock. This is where the Korg RimPitch steps in.
This new, unique product attaches to the lower side of the soundhole, rather than the headstock of the guitar. With this positioning, the Korg RimPitch gives you a more convenient viewing angle, as you only need to look down; no more trying to set the tuner at a usable angle. It’s also less obtrusive, as it sits hidden with the guitar, and it’s easy to fit and remove, though it can be left on at all times, even when stowing your guitar away in it’s case.
Fits a Variety of Acoustic Guitars
Design to fit most six-stringed acoustic guitars, the Korg RimPitch is suitable for a soundhole diameter of 100 mm±3 mm. A hook keeps the unit in place and safe from falling, this is made of rubber, so you don’t have to worry about it scratching your guitar.
The Korg RimPitch is equipped Piezo pickup positioned closely to the body of the guitar, so pitch is detected quickly and accurately. This is then converted through the series of high-brightness LEDs to indicate the string name and the current tuning and how to rectify it, even in dimly lit environments.
