Woodcraft Series

The MEINL Woodcraft Series Congas stand for tradition combined with exceptional workmanship. Only the finest hand selected materials are used to produce these premium drums. Their "Cuban Style" shaped shells provide a broad range of different tonal characteristics. It blends warm bass tones, soft open tones, and sharp slaps into one powerful drum and at the same time yields extraordinary projection. Featuring a two ply American Ash shell and True Skin Buffalo heads.

Available in 3 sizes, an 11" Quinto, 11 3/4" Conga and a 12 1/2" Tumba. all drums are 30" tall.

Floatune Series

The Floatune Tuning System is a true Meinl innovation. All mounting hardware is completely isolated from the shell and is secured without any drilling which allows the shell to vibrate freely. Featuring a two ply Rubber Wood shell, 4mm rounded chrome rims and true skin Buffalo heads.

Available in 4 sizes, a 10" Nino, 11" Quinto, 12" Conga & 13" Tumba. All drums are 30" tall

These drums are available in a High Gloss Natural finish.

Artist Series Mongo Santamaria

Ramon "Mongo" Santamaria was without a doubt one of the most respected conga players ever and a pioneer of modern Latin Jazz. During the 50´s his band "Black Cuban Diamonds" laid down the foundation for an outstanding career. He has recorded dozens of legendary percussion albums. Worldwide Jazz hits, such as "Watermelon Man" in 1963 and the album "Summertime" from 1980 are only two of the many recordings from this great master percussionist. Mongo has inspired more percussionists around the globe than any other conguero.

Mongo Santamaria died at the Baptist Hospital in Miami, USA in February 2003. He was 85 years old.

It is with great appreciation and deepest respect that Meinl honour their friend and his life's work with these MEINL Artist Series Mongo Santamaria Congas.

Available in 3 sizes, an 11" Quinto, 11 3/4" Conga and a 12 1/2" Tumba. all drums are 30" tall.

The standard drums are available in a High Gloss Natural White Ash. The special edition drums are available in Zebra finished Ash.

Fibercraft Series

Meinl Fibercraft Congas offer great quality, durability, volume and the resistance to climatic changes. They have a great presence and brilliancy in sound. Great for live playing and extensive road use.

Available in 3 sizes, an 11" Quinto, 11 3/4" Conga and a 12 1/2" Tumba. all drums are 30" tall.

These drums are available in three colour choices. Black Sparkle, Red Sparkle and Blue Sparkle.

Professional Series

The Roland Meinl Professional Series Congas - one of the finest instruments in the MEINL Percussion program and the preferred conga model by many top congueros. Outstanding in look and sound reaching from fat basses to cutting slaps with a great warm overall tone. They have set the standard in the professional conga ranges. Featuring a two ply Rubber Wood shell, 4mm rounded chrome rims and true skin Buffalo heads.

Available in 3 sizes, an 11" Quinto, 11 3/4" Conga and a 12 1/2" Tumba. All drums are 30" tall.

These drums are available in four colour choices. Aztec Fade, Brown Burl, Ebony Black and Natural.

Artist Series Luis Conte

Grammy-winner Luis Conte is an acknowledged master of percussion. His celebrated career includes touring and/or recording with some of the greatest names in contemporary music, including Madonna, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, Santana, Céline Dion, Barbara Streisand, Bruce Springsteen, Pussy Cat Dolls, OK Go, Ziggy Marley, Jackson Browne, Christna Aquilera, Tears For Fears, Backstreet Boys, Ray Charles and Cuban legends Arturo Sandoval and Cachao. He can also be heard on the scores and/or soundtracks to movies such as Miami Vice, Mission Impossible, Rain Man, Disney's animated Tarzan and many more.

All of Luis' needs have been met and exceeded with the MEINL Artist Series Luis Conte Signature Congas. They combine the charm and sound of the old traditional Cuban drums with modern features and innovations. The congas are equipped with traditional rims, are mounted as close to the shell as possible, and when combined with MEINL's True Skin Buffalo Heads, they enable an even more controlled sound.
