Pearl Rack Systems And Hardware

Pearl

Pearl was founded by Katsumi Yanagisawa, who began manufacturing music stands in Sumida, Tokyo in 1946. In 1950 Katsumi shifted his focus to the manufacturing of drums and named his company "Pearl Industry, Ltd."

By 1953, the company’s name had changed to "Pearl Musical Instrument Company," and manufacturing had expanded to include inexpensive drum kits, marching drums, timpani, Latin percussion instruments, cymbals, stands, and accessories for world wide export.

Pearl introduced their first professional drum kit, the "President Series," in 1966, and in 1973, the Pearl Musical Instrument Company of Taiwan became operational.

With the introduction of the Export series in the early 1980's, Pearl set a new benchmark for robust and affordable drum kits and almost over night became a house hold name in the drum world.

Today, Pearl’s Taiwanese operation encompasses five factories making them one of the largest manufacturers of drums and percussion instruments in the world. With a wide range of quality products to meet any budget and some of the most famous names playing their drums like Joey Jordison, Chad Smith, Dennis Chambers, Omar Hakim, Vinnie Paul & Ian Paice, Pearl really are the best reason to play drums.
