About Keplinger II

The Keplinger series of stainless steel snare drums has been Ayotte's flagship snare piece since it's introduction into the Ayotte kindred in 1995. The inspiration for the Kep originated from the master drum smith Gregg Keplinger whose aspiration was to engineer a caliber of snare drum that would stimulate the auditory senses like no other snare drum previous......With it's rugged 3mm brushed stainless steel construction and uniquely sculpted bearing edge, the Keplinger resonated a rich and three dimensional sound at an astonishingly low fundamental pitch. Cross sticking on a wood hoop version produces a crisp, penetrating "snap" while rim shots are loud and fat.

Wood hoops are in Piano Black with a Black Marble inlay as standard. Other wood hoops are available on request.
