About Steel Snare Drums

Steel shells have the brightest tone of all Yamaha's metal shell snare drums. They are versatile drums that you can tune down for a fat sound or crank it up to make your backbeat pop. Featuring one-piece lugs which allow for high tension and give added strength and the Yamaha B type strainer with it's classic design that's simple and reliable. Triple flanged steel hoops give you a wide tuning range and allow the drum to open up even under higher tension.
