This is why the Mapex proffessional Wood Grading Team selects only the finest raw materials to build its drums. Premium grade hardwoods like Maple, Walnut, Birch and Basswood are hand-selected from worldwide sources and are then sonically matched by skilled acoustical experts to ensure that every drum that Mapex produces carries with it the signature tonal and resonant properties that define the distinctive Mapex sound.

Mapex not only wants you to sound your best, you need to look great too. That's why on all of it's painted drums, Mapex finish experts hand apply an eight-coat, hand rubbed, high gloss lacquer to each component. Mapex finishes are durable, easy to maintain and will make you the envy of your drumming community.
