The return of the timeless classic - Gretsch BroadKaster
*Shell Pack Only - Snare not Included in advertised price but available to order*
Gretsch have re-released the classic Broadkaster range, available in the Vintage build with classic Gretsch fittings or as a standard build with modern fittings. The vintage build is a faithful re creation of the classic Broadkaster with the traditional style tom rail and mounts, simple vintage bass drum spurs and internal dampers on both the top and bottom tom heads. The following features give the the kit that vintage Gretsch style, feel and sound:
Broadkaster shells are 3 ply maple-poplar-maple. Each shell includes an interior ply scarf joint that supplies added structural integrity to thin, musical shells. Like all USA-made Gretsch drums, shell interiors are finished with classic Gretsch Silver Sealer.
The Bearing Edge
Bass drum & tom shells are hand finished with a reverse roundover bearing edge. This allows greater surface contact with the drumhead, resulting in a fatter, warmer tone. Snare drums are finished with a standard 30° bearing edge.
Toms & snare drums are fitted with 302, double flanged steel hoops. These are similar to the original "stick chopper" hoops used in the 1950s, but are made from a heavier gauge steel. The thicker rims help to control overtones and to protect your sticks.
Broadkaster kits are available in two different hardware packages, standard and vintage. Standard package includes heavy-duty Gretsch lugs, spurs and straight-sided GTS tom suspension typical to Gretsch USA Custom and Brooklyn kits. The vintage hardware package features hardware component styles used on 1950s-era Gretsch kits, including drum mufflers, floor tom leg brackets, rail Consolette tom holder, spurs, bass drum T-rods, throw-off, key holder and Fiberskyn bass drum logo heads.
